Week 4 in Room 10

Another busy week in Room 10. We have begun our Art pieces for the exhibition next week...exciting! We have been practicing Te Rakau in Te Reo Maori. After many misses and flying sticks we have finally got some rhythm going.  We had a great swimming session at Cameron pools (see the pictures below) and we began some science experiments about the water cycle. We know all about Collection - Evaporation - Condensation and Precipitation. Mother nature gave us lots to work with this week. Being stuck indoors meant some fun challenges. Here are some pictures of us practicing our dictionary skills in pairs. Well done to Amaya and Nikhil for winning that challenge! Outside of the school students of Room 10 have been having great success in sports. Every Monday we have our sports news report where the students can share their successes and losses from their weekend sport. Amaya shared with us the medal she won in Judo, here is a photo of her in her gi and orange belt.

Week 3 - Cameron Pools What a fabulous week with a bit of wild weather thrown in.  Our week started with the staff having a Pink Ribbon Breakfast to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer. Here is a picture of us in all our pink finery We had a fabulous time at Cameron Pools for our first swimming lesson. Thursdays lesson was all about grouping, the students eagerly jumped in the pool and demonstrated their skills to the wonderful instructors. We cant wait for next week so the real lessons can begin. On Friday we had our first buddy ICT class with the lovely wee members of Room 1. The big buddies in Room 10 helped the juniors make a pic collage about what makes a good friend. Everyone had a good time teaching and learning new skills. Because it was Anti-Bullying day of Friday, we made anti-bullying T-Shirt designs. This was a lot of fun...and of course Miss D had to dress up in pink...

Wheels day and weird and wacky dress ups! What a fabulous day we had. The sun was shining and everyone was having fun. There were bikes, schooters, skateboards, trolleys, toy cars and rollerblades. For those who didnt bring any wheels there were stilts and moonhoppers. Here are some pictures of us having fun in the sun.
