Waitemata @ Waikowhai Primary School

After a particularly windy day, three Monarch Butterfly Chrysalis' were found on the ground where they had blown off their anchors on a flax bush. Miss Daly carefully taped them to a branch and brought them in out of the wind. Now we could see the magic of the transformation up close while also protecting the delicate pods. The first Chrysalis changes colour We can see the orange and black patterns of the wings One morning it splits and out climbs a butterfly all scrunched up It slowly stretches it's wings Getting bigger.... Miss Daly thinks it's time to go outside so it can fly away So beautiful and amazing. We cant wait for the others to hatch!
